Technician trainee

They’re required to assist with testing of rail, rail weldments, rail joints and other various track components and equipment. They’re also appointed to execute safely and efficiently the subway rail testing program following Operations & Infrastructure Group. Job Description
- Candidates are appointed to set up, calibrate, adjust and operate a variety of Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant test equipment.
- Candidates are also appointed for notifying supervisors of any dangerous conditions found, following established standards and procedures.
- They’re required to interpret test results following applicable acceptance standards and classify and prioritise defects for removal in recognition of safety implications. Issuing defect notifications.
- Candidates must ensure maintain an accurate record-keeping system for information such as NDT databases, photographs, documents, etc.
- Candidates must ensure maintaining and repairing NDT equipment and maintaining calibration documentation.
Job requirement
- Candidates must ensure the completion of a Community College Diploma in the field of Quality Engineering Non-Destructive Evaluation or equivalent or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- They must obtain a valid Province of Ontario Class G driver’s license to be eligible for this post.
- They must be able to apply the principles and practices of quality assurance
- Candidates must be able to perform relevant mathematical calculations and statistical analyses.
