Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to monitor and review corporate capital projects’ work in progress to ensure contracted services comply with Capital Contract documents, predetermined requirements, and project priorities/phases.
- They’re also appointed to perform required follow-up which may include coordinating meetings with staff to gather information, resolve issues, and expedite work and achievement of objectives.
- Candidates are appointed to prepare construction and financial status reports to Senior Management for inclusion in Council meeting reports
- They are also appointed to maintain procedures to ensure projects are tracked and information is current and maintain files on the same.
- Candidates are appointed to monitor and track corporate capital accounts and assist project managers to ensure funds are available.
- Candidates are appointed to respond to inquiries or resolve complaints from external businesses and staff regarding capital projects.
- They’re also appointed to liaise with staff and other departments, contractors etc. regarding capital projects.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a dedicated Community College Diploma in Business Administration or a suitable equivalent to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a financial project management environment.
- They must have a working knowledge of personal computer applications and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Candidates must attain excellent organizational, arithmetic, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public, staff, consultants, builders, developers, and contractors.
- They must possess a valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License, in good standing, with access to a reliable vehicle for corporate use.
- They must attain the ability to work outside regular working hours, as required.
Work setting
- Candidates are appointed to prepare purchase orders and process invoiced progress payments ensuring timely processing.
