Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are required to provide information and explanations to other Engineering Department staff.
- People who applied for this post are also appointed to perform office work related to survey work.
- They’re also appointed at this post to assist other crew members in performing their duties.
- People applying for this post are required to respond to routine inquiries from the public.
- They’re required at this post to drive a City vehicle to and from the job site.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have completed Grade 12, supplemented by the successful completion of a one-year certificate in Survey from a recognized technical school, to be eligible for this post.
- People must have considerable experience in all types of City surveying.
- Candidates must have skills in the direction of survey staff, survey calculations, and the use of survey instruments to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain a Valid BC Drivers License and must demonstrate independent judgment and initiative in action taken in performing duties of the position.
- People must be able to exercise judgment in protecting the public and the City’s interests.
- They must be able to prepare detailed field notes on survey work performed and must attain considerable skill in the use of all survey instruments and equipment to be considered as an asset for this post.
Work setting
- They’re also appointed to operate survey instruments in performing legal and control surveys and obtaining data for topographic work at this post.
