Job Description
- The candidate must train staff/workers on job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
- The candidate will be expected to recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing production and other reports.
- The candidate must recommend measures to increase productivity and product quality.
- The candidate will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and scheduling (and possibly reviewing) the activities of employees.
- The candidate must devise methods for meeting work schedules and coordinating work activities with other work units.
- The candidate must identify, evaluate, control, and prevent hazards at all stages of the food manufacturing process.
- The candidate must requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
- The candidate must troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to the equipment.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing staff training.
- The candidate must propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures.
- The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safety of operations.
- The candidate must monitor quality.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring quality and production levels.
- The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting technical problems with equipment.
- The candidate will be responsible for resolving work problems and recommending measures to improve productivity.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must be able to supervise 16 to 20 people.
- The candidate must supervise staff in various areas of responsibility
- The candidate will be responsible for supervising labourers in food, beverage, and tobacco processing, as well as process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing and testers and graders, food and beverage processing.
- The candidate must have Forklift Operator Certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, and First Aid Certificate.
- The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
- The candidate should have good judgemental skills.

Experience and specialization
Computer and technology knowledge
- The candidate must be familiar with lean manufacturing.

- The operations include canning, blending, and bottling.
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have prior experience with processing machinery and high-speed packaging equipment.
Area of work experience
- The candidate must have prior experience working with process troubleshooting.
Type of industry experience
- The candidate must have prior experience working in the food and beverage industry.
Regulations knowledge
- The ideal candidate must have knowledge of CIP (Cleaning In Place) and SIP (Sanitizing in Place) Systems, Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), High temperature short time (HTST) pasteurization processing, labor relations, and preventive maintenance for machinery and equipment.
