The City of Mississauga has released a notification on which they’re inviting candidates for the post of Supervisor for handling building maintenance. They’re appointed to hire, evaluate, train, oversee daily work, approve payroll, resolve conflicts, and prepare work and vacation schedules for full-time staff. They’re also required to prepare and manage the current budget and calculate the quarterly forecasting budget.

Job Description
- Candidates are appointed to deal with service contractors, acting as liaisons with trades and other service providers with Facilities & Property Management as well as external contractors and trades.
- They’re also recruited to ensure facility inspections, in-house checks and all documentation is completed accurately and on time, and recorded
- Candidates are responsible for overseeing fuel delivery schedules and scheduling accordingly.
- They are also appointed to resolve operational issues and ensure compliance with all operating standards, policies, procedures, practices and legislation within the facility building code.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a dedicated diploma in a related field or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
- Candidates must attain a minimum of six years progressive experience in facility operations or facility services with two or more years in a supervisory and leadership role preferably in a unionized Facilities Services environment.
- They must attain dedicated certifications or designations related to facility management.
Work setting
- A valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license is required to be eligible for this post.
