Job Description
- Candidates are required to establish and monitor the attainment of objectives/performance standards and troubleshoot deficiencies working at this post.
- They’re accountable for implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and standards to ensure a safe, productive and timely operation of continuous improvement initiatives working at this post.
- Candidates are also accountable for managing statistical data such as book-offs, sick absences, overtime, lieu/floater day requests, and accident/incident forms working at this post.
- They’re also accountable at this post to support the orientation and training of new Transit Maintenance staff in Transit policies and procedures applied for this post.

Job requirement
- Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a journeyperson tradesperson, following attainment of trade certification, to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have a valid G Driver’s License, D or C Ontario Driver’s License with a “Z” endorsement to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must possess the ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Applicants must attain the ability to act as a coach and mentor through staff development to be eligible for this post.
- They must have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong organizational skills to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Applicants must have a proven ability to create, communicate, and execute procedures and processes that foster efficiencies and increase productivity following safe work practices and equipment operation.
- Candidates must have proven abilities in the use of databases and computer applications to be eligible for this post.
