Job Description
- Applicants interested in this post are required to set operational priorities and objectives within the business unit, including milestones, timelines, and performance measures working at this post.
- They’re also accountable for supervising, motivating, mentoring, and training assigned staff, including recruitment and hiring, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing of work working at this post.
- People interested in this post are required to authorise and coordinate standby, overtime, and leave requests.
- They’re also appointed to determine staff training and development needs and monitor and evaluate staff performance working at this post.
- Applicants interested in this post are required to supervise the procurement and ongoing contract management of vendors, contractors, and consultants working at this post.
- Candidates interested in this post are also required to develop and implement strategic and operational plans, policies, procedures, service standards, service level agreements, and special initiatives working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a post-secondary degree in urban forestry, arboriculture, ecology, environmental science, or related discipline to be eligible for this post.
- They must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in urban forestry to be preferred for this post.
- Candidates must be a Registered Professional Forester or a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner or eligible to become one within 6 months of hire.
- They must be an ISA Certified Arborist Tree Risk Assessment Qualification and ISA Certified Arborist Municipal Specialist to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills to provide direction to staff and contractors to be eligible for this post.
