Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to unpack received goods.
  • The candidate must record shortages and reject damaged goods.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise the loading and unloading of goods.
  • The candidate will be expected to inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep track of all invoices sent and received.
  • The candidate will be responsible for filling orders by retrieving items from the warehouse and preparing them for delivery.
  • The candidate must examine shipment contents and compare them to records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to ensure accuracy.
  • The candidate will be required to record shipment data for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies.
  • The candidate will be expected to requisition and store shipping materials and supplies in order to maintain stock inventory.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep track of merchandise movement in the store and warehouse.
  • The candidate will be required to use hand tools, power tools, or a postage metre to pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
  • The candidate will be responsible for processing returns for items that are incorrect or unsatisfactory.
  • The candidate will be expected to communicate with vendors about any delays or problems.
  • The candidate must determine the method of shipment, utilising knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • The candidate must follow all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list.
  • When inventory is low, the candidate will be required to place orders with suppliers as well as order packing and shipping supplies as needed.
  • The candidate will be required to ensure that the store is clean, safe and in order.
  • The candidate will be expected to maintain the company database accurately, including all stock and inventory items.
  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring store security by watching customers for signs of theft or shoplifting and reporting incidents to management.
  • The candidate will be expected to monitor inventory and report any missing or lost items to management.
  • The candidate must ensure compliance with store policies and regulations.
  • The candidate will be required to build positive work environment to achieve store goals.
  • The candidate would be responsible for following health regulations and safety standards

Equipment and Machinery Experience

  • The candidate must be capable of operating a Loader, Industrial lift trucks and forklifts, Dollies and hand trucks, and Pallet lifters.

Work Setting

  • The candidate will be required to work in Warehouse, Retail/wholesale establishment or distribution centre

Own Tools/Equipment

  • Candidates are required to wear steel-toed safety boots.
