Job Description
- Applicants who applied for this post are required to move bags to the truck and use appropriate mechanisms to dump or manually lift them onto the truck working at this post.
- Applicants are also required at this post to operate mechanical equipment attached to vehicles/equipment safely and efficiently.
- They’re also required to place empty carts and containers back to the set-out location in a tidy manner working at this post.
- Applicants are also required at this post to assist the operators by signalling a vehicle which is being manoeuvred or backed up when on a two person crew working at this post.
Job requirement
- Applicants must possess and maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class “D” Driver’s License with “Z” endorsement to be eligible for this post.
- They must possess and be able to maintain as appropriate, any valid Province of Ontario requirements to operate mechanized equipment to be preferred for this post.
- Candidates must attain a good driving record and familiarity with the location of major city streets.
- Candidates for this post must attain the ability to use or learn to use various technical devices related to the position.
- They must have the ability to deal courteously with the public along with the ability to communicate about their job duties to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Applicants at this post are also required to lift and load garbage, recyclable materials, organics, organic yard waste and special pick-up items such as household appliances, discarded furniture, wood, carpet and electronics working at this post.
