  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the identification of a mechanical problem by questioning the customer or performing a visual inspection or road test.
  • The candidate will be expected to consult with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work orders for necessary repairs.
  • The candidate must write a brief description of the customer’s concern on the repair order to assist the technician in locating the problem.
  • The candidate will be required to explain to the customer the work performed and the repair order charges.
  • The candidate will be responsible for dealing with customer complaints.
  • The candidate will be required to test drive the vehicle with the customer as needed to confirm the problem or to refer the problem to a test technician.
  • The candidate must refer to the service history, inspect the vehicle, and recommend additional needed service.
  • The candidate will be expected to review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and that any additional work or authorization is noted.
  • The candidate will be required to communicate with customers in order to provide them with updates on the status of their vehicles, including details about any additional work that may be required or parts that must be ordered.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing customer warranties to ensure they are still valid, updating them as needed, and dealing with any claims that may arise.
  • The candidate will be responsible for scheduling routine maintenance such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid top-offs, as well as unscheduled repairs.
  • The candidate will be required to calculate and provide an estimate of these expenses for resolving the problem to the customer.
  • The candidate will be expected to respond to all customer concerns and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced busy environment.
  • The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
  • The candidate should have an eye for details.
  • The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks on frequent basis.
  • The candidate must estimate the time required for each service based on the type of service being performed and the needs of the customer.
  • The candidate must have excellent listening skills
  • The ideal candidate will have strong writing and math skills.
