Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to respond to customer complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate will be expected to access and process data.
  • The candidate will have to sell merchandise.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep records and statistics.
  • The candidate will be required to issue receipts and other forms.
  • The candidate must explain the type and cost of services provided.
  • The candidate will be expected to set up billing for services.
  • The candidate will be expected to respond to customer inquiries and provide information.
  • The candidate will be expected to advise customers on the services that are required for routine maintenance.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the identification of a mechanical problem by questioning the customer or performing a visual inspection or road test.
  • The candidate will be expected to consult with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work orders for necessary repairs.
  • The candidate must write a brief description of the customer’s concern on the repair order to assist the technician in locating the problem.
  • The candidate will be required to explain to the customer the work performed and the repair order charges.
  • The candidate will be required to test drive the vehicle with the customer as needed to confirm the problem or to refer the problem to a test technician.
  • The candidate must refer to the service history, inspect the vehicle, and recommend additional needed service.
  • The candidate will be expected to review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and that any additional work or authorization is noted.
  • The candidate will be required to communicate with customers in order to provide them with updates on the status of their vehicles, including details about any additional work that may be required or parts that must be ordered.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing customer warranties to ensure they are still valid, updating them as needed, and dealing with any claims that may arise.
  • The candidate will be responsible for scheduling routine maintenance such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid top-offs, as well as unscheduled repairs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for acting as a liaison between customers and mechanics, as well as explaining which repairs have been recommended.
  • The candidate will be required to draught an order for repair with all information gathered clearly outlined.
