Roadmaster Track Maintenance
Toronto Transit Commission has released a notification in which they’re inviting candidates for the post of Roadmaster Track Maintenance. They need to plan the work of the section and providing direction for the most efficient utilisation of labour, material and operations.They perform traction power cuts, in charge of crews as required to facilitate work at track level.They will supervise and conduct inspection of Switches and Turnouts tangent and curved track, reaction rails, power rails, and associated hardware etc.They will submit work order requests and prepare detailed working diagrams using Maximo and Way Projects.They will investigate injuries, accidents, incidents, and initiating corrective action.

Job description
- Candidates will monitor and track information, data, records, and/or equipment inventory, following up, and updating as required.
- They will assist or prepare reports, estimates, employee related documents, schedules, inventory and distribute to appropriate parties in accordance with established standards.
- They will provide assistance in the preparation, development, monitoring, or other needs for a given project or organizational unit.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have several years of supervisory experience preferably working in a union environment in the field of rail track.
- They should develop a strong understanding of Turnout inspection and maintenance.
- They must complete a Community College diploma in the field of Civil Engineering/Civil Technology would be considered an asset.
Work setting
- Candidates must have knowledge of government legislation relevant to the work performed;
- They must be familiar with the relevant provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Labour Relations Act and the Human Rights Code.
- They must quickly acquire knowledge of Commission and Departmental policies and procedures applicable to the work performed.
- They must quickly develop knowledge of the relevant Collective Agreement provisions and other union regulations.
