Job requirement
- Candidates for this post must acquire previous direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting to get preferred for this post.
- Candidates must have completed high school education, Manitoba standards, with successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant Program to be eligible for this post.
- They must have a current C.P.R. and must be in excellent physical and mental health to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must be able to stand, walk or sit for extended periods without resting.
- They must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with patients.
- Candidates for this post must be capable of bending, stretching and lifting while performing patient care and non-patient care duties.
- Candidates eligible for this post must be able to safely transfer large or heavy patients who may have limited or no weight-bearing capabilities to be eligible for this post.
- They must have dedicated basic computer skills and computer literacy as appropriate to the setting to be eligible for this post.
- They must be proficient in both oral and written English communication with excellent interpersonal skills with people in a variety of settings to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates for this post must have a preference for those applicants who are competent in an Indigenous language or have knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
