Job Description
- People applied for this post to provide in each Home includes specialized, restorative, supportive and palliative care for persons with dementia, disabilities and health problems working at this post.
- They’re responsible for the delivery of quality, holistic, resident care through the administration and supervision of the Nursing Program and staff in a designated area, with an emphasis on resident safety and engagement working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have completed a 4-year university degree in Nursing to be eligible for this post.
- They must have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience, preferably in a geriatric-gerontology or long-term care setting, to be preferred for this post.
- They must have post-basic preparation in gerontology is desirable and must have membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) is desirable to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have dedicated Canadian Gerontological Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- They must have prior knowledge of the Scope and purpose of gerontological nursing and functions/activities related to the nursing process.
- Candidates must know about age-related changes and must know ethical dilemmas and considerations.
- Candidates must attain management of common chronic problems to be eligible for this post.
