Job requirement
- Candidates must have completed a 4-year university degree in Nursing and must have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience, preferably in a geriatric-gerontology or long-term care setting to be eligible for this post.
- They must have completed post-basic preparation in gerontology is desirable and must have dedicated membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is desirable to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have dedicated Canadian Gerontological Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association is desirable to be preferred for this post.
- Applicants must have completed the College of Nurses of Ontario to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants who applied for this post are required to maintain the scope and purpose of gerontological nursing and functions/activities related to the nursing process working at this post.
- Candidates must have dedicated knowledge of ethical dilemmas and considerations and must have prior knowledge of the management of common chronic problems to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must have prior knowledge of nursing documentation standards including Resident Assessment Instrument RAI-MDS.
- They must have knowledge of the principles of rehabilitation and activation in the care of older persons or adults requiring long-term care to be eligible for this post.
- They must know the transfer and positioning techniques of persons requiring long-term care to be eligible for this post.
