Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to provide technical advice and guidance to stakeholders in the railway industry.
- They’re also appointed to apply expertise in investigations of accidents, incidents, injuries and fatalities, complaints and other situations as they relate to acts and regulations.
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to participate in the planning and implementation of the regional inspection and monitoring program.
- Candidates working at this post are also responsible for monitoring railways to promote compliance with acts and regulations as well as working with railways in identifying and reducing risks.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain dedicated working experience working as a locomotive engineer at a railway in Canada.
- Candidates working at this post must attain experience in working as a locomotive engineer at a railway in Canada to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain experience of working in an operations supervisory role at a railway in Canada.
- Candidates must attain the ability and willingness to exercise physical effort to climb, embark, and disembark railway equipment to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to recognize unsafe railway operating situations and to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Candidates must attain a dedicated possession of a valid provincial or territorial driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.
- They must ensure the ability to communicate effectively orally.
- They must have a successful completion of a post-secondary program from a recognized post-secondary institution to be eligible for this post.
