Job Description 

  • Applicants for this post are appointed to maintain a notebook containing an accurate account of up-to-date activities.
  • Candidates are also required to prepare and submit reports maintain property records at FIS and make entries on PEMS and DLMS working at this post.
  • Applicants for this post are appointed to organise and liaise with the Supervisor regarding overdue property reports working at this post.
  • Applicants at this post are also required to archive files and memo books for the unit and retrieve historical cases from the City archives.
  • Candidates are also required to arrange for the proper disposal of biohazard and chemical waste at this post.
  •  Applicants for this post are also required to assist the Logistics & Equipment Clerk with tasks working at this post.

Job requirement 

  • Applicants must have completed grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants for this post must have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience to be eligible for this post.
  • They must acquire a dedicated general knowledge of forensic techniques and equipment along with prior general knowledge of Service procedures and legislation relating to the transportation of dangerous goods to be considered as an asset for this post.
  • They must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with members of the Service and outside agencies to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants must attain the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the rules of evidence about the duties of the position to be preferred for this post.

Work setting 

  • Candidates at this post must be proficient Computer skills are required with MS Office Suite applications, specifically with Excel to be considered as an asset for this post.
