3. Wait for documentary requirements
Note: This part (and the next one) applies exclusively to professionals who use for any of the Express Entry programs and fortunately find an employer on one of the genuine Canadian employment sites.
After locating a potential company ready to hire you, all you need to do is wait for papers to come.
Once the employer is successful, they will send you the LMIA together with the employment offer and contract.

Arriving in Canada, don’t expect the Border Services Officer (BSO) to immediately issue you the work visa.
After the first identification check (when your fingerprints are verified and matched to their records), the following admission criteria will be required:
- Entry port (POE) Introduction Letter.
- It’s your passport.
- You have a visa (if applicable).
- Documents like plane tickets, etc.
- Supporting papers such as a copy of the positive LMIA (if required), evidence of work experience/education, or job number offer (which your employer received after submitting the request of employment through the Employer Portal).
The job number offer applies solely to individuals exempted from filing LMIA and coming to Canada for a particular company.
Once the BSO approves, you may enter Canada; they will immediately produce your work permit. The BSO will also stamp your passport, telling you how long you may remain in Canada.
