Job Description

  • The candidate must be able to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications in order to determine the layout of the plumbing system, water supply network, waste and drainage systems, and so on.
  • The candidate must prepare tenders and quotations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for instructing apprentices.
  • The candidate must locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • The candidate must cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • The candidate must join pipes with couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for scheduling personnel, tools, and equipment.
  • The candidate must test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • The candidate must determine the piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising other employees.
  • The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate must measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
  • The candidate must use maps and other trip planning tools.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 5 to 10 people.
  • The candidate must have Backflow Prevention Certification, Plumber Trade Certification, Working at Heights Training Certification, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Driver’s License (Class 3 or D), Plumber Red Seal Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp conditions.

  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate should work in a commercial setting that produces a workforce full of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
  • The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
  • The candidate must work in an institutional setting.
  • The candidate should work in residential settings, handling tasks on one, two, and three-family dwellings.
  • The candidate’s relocation costs should not be covered by the employer; if the company does not provide a relocation package, you may request an advance on your earnings to cover some of your moving expenses.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate whether the candidate would be ready to move into a new city/different city for a job.
  • Work environment offers excavation process.
