Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are required to ensure the effective and efficient day-to-day allocation of resources.
- Applicants are also required to ensure the proper use of Incident Command, Accountability Systems, IRIC, RIC, and Incident Safety Officers working at this post.
- Candidates who applied for this post are responsible for the general direction and coordination of the Platoon working at this post.
- Applicants who apply for this post are required to perform the duties of a supervisor and employer as prescribed in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Candidates are also required to act as Senior Advisors at all Fire Suppression incidents of a second alarm or greater magnitude.
- They’re also appointed at this post to act as Incident Commanders at a fire or emergency scene working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must possess a post-secondary degree in Public Administration, Fire Technology or equivalent to be eligible for this post.
- They must have an extensive background in fire technology and administration achieved through progressive experience in Fire and Emergency Services to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have previous experience as District Chief to be considered as an asset for this post.
- Candidates must build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates are appointed to coordinate and control the issuing of protective equipment and uniforms to the assigned Platoon personnel working at this post.
- They’re also required to respond to day-to-day questions from the public and the media working at this post.
