Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to liaise and represent the City in meetings working at this post.
- They’re also appointed to make presentations to and answer enquiries from the public regarding Heritage Planning working at this post.
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to develop and conduct public participation programs.
- They’re also appointed to prepare and present reports, make recommendations to the Toronto Preservation Board, Committees and Council on proposals involving heritage resources,
- Candidates are appointed at this post to advise on the use of incentives to leverage high-quality conservation of heritage properties.
- They’re also appointed to review and comment on technical reports and drawings including Heritage Impact Assessments, Conservation Plans, Landscape Plans, and Heritage Signage Plans working at this post.
Job requirement
- They must have post-secondary education in planning, architecture, history, or in a professional discipline pertinent to the job function or equivalent combination of education and experience to be eligible for this post.
- They must have experience working in the field of heritage conservation including, creating heritage plans, developing policy and conducting historical research to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have experience in leading and conducting heritage planning studies and preparing Heritage Conservation District plans to be eligible for this post.
- They must know historical preservation theory, legislation, principles, and practice.
- Candidates must have dedicated sound knowledge of heritage planning and urban design, historical theory, legislation, and technological principles that pertain to heritage preservation.
- Candidates must attain the ability to interpret architectural and site plan drawings.
- Candidates must ensure the ability to apply critical judgment and analytical thinking to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- They must attain the ability to produce concise and effective reports, presentations, and recommendations under time constraints.
