Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for compiling and analyzing data on factors affecting land use.
  • The candidate must consult with appropriate authorities and interest groups in order to create and implement land use or community plans.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing and recommending land development concepts and plans for zoning, subdivisions, transportation, public utilities, community facilities, parks, agriculture, and other land uses.
  • The candidate must prepareย plans for environmental protection.
  • The candidate must present plans to civic, rural, and regional authorities, as well as hold public meetings.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating proposals for land use and development plans, as well as preparing recommendations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for processing application for land development permits.
  • The candidate will be responsible for administering land use plans and zoning by-laws.
  • The candidate must formulate long-term objectives and policies relative toย future land use and protection of the environment.
  • The candidate must conduct research.
  • The candidate must plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a driver’s license, be a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, and be a member of a provincial or territorial planning institute.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
