Job Description

  • The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
  • The candidate must administer medications.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with bathing and other personal hygiene activities.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
  • The candidate must change non-sterile dressings.
  • The candidate will have to collect specimens.
  • The candidate must launder clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cooking.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English.
  • The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • The candidate must be punctual.
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate must have patience.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in chronic or long-term care facilities or centres.

Experience and specialization

Target audience

  • The candidate must have experience in providing care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as adults, the elderly, convalescents, terminally ill patients, and those with intellectual or physical disabilities.
