Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with bathing and other personal hygiene activities.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
  • The candidate must feed or assist in feeding.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.
  • The candidate must prepare and serve healthy meals.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the emotional well-being of children.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and caring for children.
  • The candidate will be responsible for organizing activities for children, such as games and outings.
  • The candidate will instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
  • The candidate must discipline children using the methods specified by the parents.
  • The candidate must bathe, dress, and feed infants and children.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • A candidate with experience is an asset.
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate must have patience.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in optional accommodation, an adjustment to a job or work environment that makes it possible for an individual with a disability to perform their job duties.
  • The candidate should work in a staff accommodation that offers live-in accommodation when an employer offers housing to its employees.
  • The employee should be able to work in the employer’s/client’s home and at various site locations. The specific period of progression is the annual review.
  • The employer should cover the candidate’s relocation costs, allowing the employer to contribute to the employee’s relocation costs incurred in moving closer to the company’s offices or other work locations as required.
