Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for caring for pets.
  • The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with bathing and other personal hygiene activities.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
  • The candidate must change non-sterile dressings.
  • The candidate will have to collect specimens.
  • The candidate must feed or assist in feeding.
  • The candidate must launder clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must plan therapeutic diets and menus.
  • The candidate must provide companionship.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have College/CEGEP or equivalent experience in Health services/allied health/health sciences, general, Public health, or other, as a Health Aide, Home health aide/home attendant, Nursing assistant/aide and patient care assistant/aide, Practical nursing, vocational nursing and nursing assistants, other.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Core competencies for public health in Canada Course Certification, Developmental services worker (DSW) Training Certification, Geriatric Certificate, Mental health first aid Certificate, Relationship development intervention (RDI) training certification, Understanding and managing aggressive behaviour (UMAB) course certification, CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate and Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs).
  • The candidate must be punctual.

  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
