Job Description
- The candidate must calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
- The candidate must prepare statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments, and insurance and pension plans.
- The candidate will be responsible for storing, updating, and retrieving financial data.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing clerical duties such as maintain filing systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing and balancing period-end reports, as well as reconciling issued payroll with bank statements.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly statements.
- The candidate must complete and submit documents for the administration of benefits such as pension plans, leave, share savings, employment, and medical insurance.
- The candidate will be responsible for informing employees about payroll matters and benefit plans.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining payroll.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime in order to calculate pay and benefits entitlements, either manually or using computerized systems.
- The candidate must prepare T4 statements and other statements.
- The candidate must enter data.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
- The ideal candidate must have a Canadian Payroll Association’s�(CPA) payroll compliance practitioner�(PCP) Certification, as well as Certified Payroll Management Programs (CPMP) and Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification.
- The candidate should be accurate.
- The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The candidate must be well-organized.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate should be a good team player.

- The candidate will need to work in federal, provincial, and municipal governments, as well as the public sector and the head office.

Computer and technology knowledge
- The candidate must be familiar with Sage Accounting Software, Quick Books, Human resources software, MS Excel, MS Word, and Accounting software.
