Job Description

  • Candidates interested in this post are appointed to interact with clients in a professional, formal manner where the focus is on completing the task pleasantly and correctly.
  • They’re also accountable for communicating directly with the grieving family members to establish their preferences and meet with the public to provide information & assistance relating to interments, available cemetery space and cemetery rules and regulations working at this post.
  • Applicants applying for this post to plan, schedule and carry out all work necessary to provide the key components of cemetery service, including interments, disinterment, set up and take down, landscaping and memorial installations on a day-to-day basis.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must have completion of grade 12 to be eligible for this post.
  • They must be able to drive and operate a tractor-backhoe or similar equipment.
  • Candidates must have park maintenance, construction or cemetery-related experience.
  • Applicants must have a valid class 5 B.C. Driver’s License with heavy-duty endorsement with a safe driving record and Class 3 BC Driver’s License to be considered as an asset for this post.
  • Candidates must have a Certified Heavy Equipment Operator License to be considered as an asset for this post.

Work setting

  • Candidates must have a minimum current Occupational First Aid level 1 to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates with occasional weekend availability are eligible for this post.
  • Candidates will also have good computer skills in Microsoft Office and computer programs Strong organization and problem-solving skills to be eligible for this post.
