Parking Enforcement Officer

The City of Mississauga has released a notice of hiring eligible applicants for the post of parking enforcement officer. Job Description 

  • Candidates applying for this post are required to operate city-owned vehicles during assigned patrols of the City.
  • Candidates are also accountable for responding to complaints received from residents, Council members and staff related to parking infractions and regulations, ensuring maximum effectiveness in conflict resolution working at this post.
  •  Candidates who applied for this post are accountable for assisting other Parking Enforcement Officers with inquiries to meet service demands within established timelines working at this post.
  •  Candidates accountable at this post are required to direct and coordinate the removal of vehicles by the City’s towing contractors following the traffic by-laws and the City’s contract working at this post.
  • People accountable at this post are required to prepare and submit occurrence reports to supervisory staff and, where necessary, provide situational awareness in response to Councillor or public inquiries working at this post.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain a graduate of Law Enforcement, Security, Police Foundations, Municipal Law Enforcement or other Enforcement related programs at a Community College or University is a minimum requirement to be eligible for this post.
  •  People must attain 1-2 years of Parking Enforcement ticket issuance or administration experience to be considered as an asset for this post.
  • They must know the City’s Parking enforcement by-laws, Administrative Penalty by-laws and Provincial Offences Act to be eligible for this post. People must have a valid Class “G” driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract to operate a City vehicle to be considered as an asset for this post.
