Job Description
- The candidate must prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted.
- The candidate must repair cracks and holes.
- The candidate must mix paint to achieve the desired colour and texture.
- The candidate will be responsible for advising customers on colours and choice of wall coverings.
- The candidate must erect scaffolding and swing stages as well as attach rigging.
- The candidate must apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to both interior and external surfaces.
- The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
- The candidate must read and interpret specifications, or follow verbal instructions.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must be flexible.
- The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
- The candidate should be reliable.
Work setting
- The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
Experience and specialization
Coating/application specialization
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about aggregate painting, sign painting, novelty and decorative effects, surface gilding, multi-color finishes, powdered coatings, lead based removal and encapsulation and paint spraying.
