Job Description

• The candidate will be responsible for feeding aquaculture stock.
• The candidate will be required to write basic progress reports on a daily basis.
• The candidate must cull, mark, or tag stock and report stock irregularities.
• The candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of pumps, filters, and other aquaculture equipment.
• The candidate must clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures.
• The candidate will be required to load stock into trucks’ tanks and pack stock into special containers.
• The candidate will be required to rake and collect marine plants.
• The candidate must spread and dry marine plants.
• The candidate must transport marine plants to processing plants.
• The candidate will be required to dig shellfish from shellfish beds.
• The candidate must clean, sort, and pack shellfish.
• The candidate will be expected to assist aquaculture technicians in the operation of fish hatcheries and other aquatic farms.
• The candidate will be responsible for grading and weighing aquaculture stocks.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be flexible.

Work site environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be able to work in and on water.
• The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp and cold/refrigerated conditions.
