Job description
- All candidates will follow proper Picking department procedures for performance of duties and paperwork.
- They have to lift the pallet from a low stack and set it on the floor and also move the pallet with a manual pallet jack and observe safety and security procedures.
- Candidates have to check manual pallet jacks and pallets, tagging any with defects.
- They are also responsible for obtaining a ticket from the control desk and scans pick tickets with a wearable hand scanner that will list the number and location of items to pull for an order.
- They have to operates manual pallet jack to transport pallets through the warehouse and select items from floor stock to assemble orders.
- They are responsible for enlists forklift drivers to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large-quantity item orders and spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of the fall danger zone.
- Applicants have to enter quantity or weight of each item pulled into a wearable hand scanner.
- They have to check computer to search for any items not found and operate a manual pallet jack to move approved completed orders onto trucks for delivery.
- They also have to follow all safety and security procedures and provide and ensure prompt and courteous member service.
Job requirement
- High School Diploma or GED preferred is required for candidates
- They must have a certificate of level 1 Costco Food Safety.
- Costco Operation of Electric Pallet Jack Certification would be an asset.
Work settings
- All candidates have to be good at calculating or maths.
- They also must have good computer skills.
