Job description
- All candidates will provide triage, prompt first aid within the scope of your training, and also referral to outside medical providers, if indicated.
- They have to minimise the AA risk of injury through awareness, education and proactive engagement.
- Candidates will spend frequent time on the warehouse floor to interact and engage with AAs and managers to coach on observed at-risk work habits.
- Applicants will maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- They will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained.
- They will also participate in special projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Job requirement
- All applicants must have a High School or equivalent diploma.
- All candidates must have a valid card evidencing successful completion of Advanced Care Paramedic under the Paramedics Profession Regulation (AR 151/2016) OR, registered nurse who is member of the College and also Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta established under the Health Professions Act.
- Candidates also must hold a valid card evidencing successful completion of the standard first aid with CPR/AED level A or C from any accredited Canadian certifying authority would be an asset.
- Candidates have been certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross.
Work setting
- All candidates must be trained as an advanced first aider who holds a certificate in advanced first aid from an approved training agency.
- Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- They also must have experience with an industrial wellness program.
- Experience coaching on body mechanics would be an asset for candidates.
- Experience in ergonomics would be positive skills.
- They also must have experience with federal and province specific regulations.
