Occupational Health Nurse

Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are required to apply restriction concerns by consulting and interpreting medical information and advising on strategies to resolve discrepancies. 
  • They’re also appointed at this post to manage absences and return to work cases for work and non-work-related injuries and illnesses. 
  • Candidates are also appointed at this post to liaise with doctors and other internal and external healthcare professionals on employee health issues and ability to work. 
  • They’re also appointed at this post to facilitate and participate in meetings including weekly case reviews, health team meetings etc.
  • They’re also appointed at this post to work under the OHD TELUS Health Team Manager and consult with on-site health & safety professionals working at this post. 

Job requirement 

  • They must be licensed, or eligible for registration in British Columbia to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must be certified Audiometric Technicians from an approved agency recognized in BC or eligible to complete the training to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must be a certified Spirometry Technician or eligible to complete the training to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must have strong communication skills and a dedicated certification in Advanced First Aid to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates for this post must have strong organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and thoroughness with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. 
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Electronic medical record documentation and filing, and task prioritization to be preferred for this post. 

Work setting 

  • Candidates for this post must have experience in Disability Case Management and dedicated experience in the use of Cority electronic medical records to be eligible for this post.
