The selected candidate will be expected to start work promptly. The available positions are Permanent or full-time. The shift times for this position are Day, Weekend, Overtime and Morning.

Job Description

• The candidate must drive lighter, special-purpose trucks.
• The candidate must load and unload goods.
• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect the brakes, tires, lights, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must pay for and receive payments for goods.
• The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all vehicle aspects.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
• The candidate must have a Class 5/5F/G licence (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles).
• The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
• The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate should be a good team player.
• The candidate must be hardworking.
• The candidate must have patience.

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), maintenance and repair reports and trip reports.

Type of trucking and equipment

• The trucking type is straight truck (4,600 kg+ or 10,000 lbs+ with 3+ axles).

Communication systems experience

• The candidate will operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigational equipment.

Transportation/travel experience

• The candidate must have transportation and travel experience at the local, provincial/territorial, and regional levels.
• The candidate must have short-haul travel experience.
