Job Description

• The candidate will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from the surfaces of metal products.
• The candidate must immerse metal products in cleaning solutions.
• The candidate must assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
• The candidate will be responsible for sorting metal sheets, parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
• The candidate will be responsible for grinding or chipping excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
• The candidate will be responsible for cleaning machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading vehicles.
• The candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting work orders.
• The candidate must operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
• The candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift.
• The candidate must read blueprints and drawings.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and more than 45 kg (100 lbs.).
• The candidate should be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty and hot conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work setting

• The candidate must work in a metal products manufacturing company.
• The candidate should work on machine set-up, the time required to prepare a machine for its next run after producing the last part of the previous run.
• The candidate must work in an environment that includes drilling operations.

Experience and specialization

Measuring tools

• The candidate must have experience and specialization in using measuring tools, including gauges.

Aviation special processes

• The candidate must be familiar with heat treatment.

Type of operation

• The type of operation is grinding.

Mining equipment

• The candidate must have experience operating mining equipment, including a cutting machine.

Drilling equipment

• The candidate must have prior experience operating a drilling machine.

Instrument experience

• The candidate must have experience with precision measuring instruments.

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have experience operating various equipment and machinery, including a deburrer, hand truck, lifting device, shotblaster, wheelabrator, punch presses, pressing machine, hand tools, grinder, forging press, drill presses, cutting torches, forklift, grinding machine, and coil winding machines.

• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks on frequent basis.
• The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must perform manual dexterity tasks.
• The candidate should have an eye for details.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate will be expected to manage a large workload.

Own tools/equipment

• The candidate must have steel-toed safety boots.
