A post of mechanic transit is vacant at the City of Mississauga and they’re inviting candidates to fill out and submit the application form. They’re also appointed to diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including the repair of brakes suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other repairs accurately.

Job Description
- Candidates will have to ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately.
- They’re also appointed to maintain records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
- Candidates are appointed to complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections as per NSC11B, and semi-annual maintenance inspections.
- They’re required to perform maintenance and repairs to the Transit fleet as set forth by the policy of the Fleet Maintenance Section.
Job requirement
- Candidates must possess a current Ontario Government Certificate of Qualifications – Truck and Coach Technician.
- They must attain an Ontario Government Certificate of Qualifications Automotive Service Technician (310S) to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain five years of experience in the trade as a licensed technician following an accredited apprenticeship program.
- Candidates must attain experience with electronic multiplexed heavy-duty diesel engines and automatic transmission vehicles.
- They must have completed additional courses in the mechanic’s trade to be eligible for this post.
