Job Description
- The candidate must conduct ecological and environmental impact studies.
- The candidate must prepare environmental impact reports for industries, governments, or the general public.
- The candidate must conduct biostatistical data analysis using computer modeling techniques.
- The candidate must perform administrative tasks.
- The candidate must conduct experiments on plant or animal growth, heredity, and breeding.
- The candidate must plan and conduct studies of the environment, including the population, distribution, structure, functional characteristics, and behavior of plants and animals.
- The candidate must produce reports.
- The candidate must study, identify, and classify animal specimens.
- The candidate must present the views of an association or organization to members, the media, and the general public.
- The candidate must organize conferences and meetings.
- The candidate must prepare research papers, educational texts, or articles.
- The candidate must provide consulting services to government and other organizations.
- The candidate must conduct interviews.
- The candidate must conduct literature reviews.
- The candidate must co-ordinate workshops.
- The candidate must co-ordinate multidisciplinary projects.
- The candidate must deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia.

- The candidate must liaise with community agencies or partners, identify additional or alternative services, and provide referrals.
- The candidate must review documents, briefs, and reports.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Water, wetlands, and marine resources management, Fishing and fisheries sciences and management, Aquatic biology/limnology, or Environmental biology.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
- Proficiency in Cree, Inuktitut, Ojibwa and Chipewyan would be considered an asset.

- The candidate must be familiar with technical reports.

- The candidate will need to be knowledgeable about environmental assessment and monitoring, site remediation, and toxicology studies.
Functional expertise
- The candidate must be knowledgeable in professional or technical accreditation, as well as regulation or legislation policy interpretation and implementation.
Technical or specialized writing
- The candidate must be familiar with analysis.
Industrial processes and products experience
- The candidate must have prior experience in quality assurance and control.
Area of work experience
- The candidate must have work experience in the areas of fisheries, mineral resources and/or mining, environmental consulting company, specification or technical writing, scientific data processing, field sampling and data acquisition, and ecology.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be skilled in project management, wildlife ecology and management, or biology.
