The successful candidate for this position is expected to start work as quickly as possible. The role being offered is Permanent employment or Full time job. The shift timings for this position include the Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning and Morning.

Job Description

  • The candidate must prepare, measure, and mark the surfaces to be covered.
  • The candidate must mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives with a hand trowel.
  • The candidate must prepare rough plans and sketches.
  • The candidate must set tiles and apply pressure to secure them to the base.
  • The candidate will be responsible for aligning and straightening tiles.
  • The candidate must prepare tenders and quotations.
  • The candidate must cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings with hand and power cutting tools.
  • The candidate will be responsible for instructing apprentices.
  • The candidate must pack grout into the joints between tiles and remove any excess grout.
  • The candidate will be responsible for removing and replacing cracked or damaged tiles.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising other workers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for laying and setting mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and flooring designs.
  • The candidate must build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cutting, surfacing, polishing, and installing marble and granite.
  • The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate must mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces.
  • The candidate will be responsible for installing tile strips.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Filipino and Tagalog is an asset.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising 1 to 2 and 3 to 4 people.

Work site environment

  • The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate’s relocation costs should be covered by the employer, allowing the employer to contribute to the employee’s relocation costs incurred in moving closer to the company’s offices or other work locations as required.
  • The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
  • The candidate should work in residential settings, focusing on tasks performed on one, two, and three-family dwellings.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate whether the candidate would be ready to move into a new city/different city for a job.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

  • The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
  • The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
  • The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
  • The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.
  • The candidate should have an eye for details.
  • The candidate must have excellent hand eye coordination.
  • The candidate will be expected to manage a large workload.
  • The candidate should be willing to work overtime if necessary.

Own tools/equipment

  • The candidate must have steel-toed safety boots.
