Job description

  • Candidates will develop, maintain, and grow strong relationships with key municipal and provincial elected officials and staff to tell the inspiring story of CPKC.
  • They are responsible for managing a range of government relations initiatives.
  • They promote the business and policy objectives of Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) at the municipal and provincial level, in Quebec and Ontario.
  • They will deploy fact-based arguments to educate key municipal and provincial stakeholders, and other audiences, to ensure CPKC is known as the credible industry leader on issues and public policies affecting the railway industry.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of professional experience in government or a government relations role.
  • They should possess excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English, with a demonstrated ability to write in a clear, concise, effective and professional manner.
  • They should possess the capability to learn quickly and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.

Work setting

  • Candidates must have the ability to represent CPKC in business and industry coalitions, as required.
  • They should possess the capability to monitor, analyze, and respond to current and potential policy and legislative or regulatory actions at the municipal and provincial level related to the railway industry and CPKC.
