Manager

UBC has released a notification in which they’re inviting candidates for the post of Manager. They will keep an eye on the departmental budget, operating accounts, and revenue and expense tracking for the entire fiscal year. They will reconcile accounts and payroll ledgers, examine and evaluate monthly variations in revenue and expenses. Throughout the year, they will provide financial reports, at the end of the year, provide budget summaries, reports, and financial analysis. They make sure that recoveries and expenditures are within budget. They will create, uphold, counsel, and guarantee adherence to policies, guidelines.

Job description

  • Candidates will be in charge of overseeing the unit’s student-run activities on a daily basis, such as the Food Hub Market and Student Wellness Centres.
  • They will prepare forecasts and projections while working with the director.
  • They will create the budget for the Food Hub Market and Wellness Centre.
  • They will gather information for forecasting and budget preparation.
  • They will examine service agreements and contract obligations with both internal and external parties, such as food suppliers and building operations.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must graduate with a degree in a relevant field, such as social work, education, public health, health administration, or health promotion.
  • They should have six years minimum of relevant experience, or the equivalent amount of training and experience combined. 
  • It is imperative to have prior experience working in a student management and service setting.

Work setting

  • Candidates must have administrative experience in the areas of reporting, financial planning and budgeting, human resources, and leadership. 
  • They need to be expertise in creating and interpreting policies and procedures as well as managing budgets. 
  • They should be familiar with managing and guiding a high-functioning team in a hectic setting.
