Job Description
- Candidates for this post are appointed to ensure all assigned projects are planned, conducted and reported according to professional accounting and assurance standards.
- They were also appointed to maintain considerable subject matter expertise in financial statement audits. These audits require credible specialists with valid professional accounting designations.
- Candidates working in this post are also appointed to ensure project work meets performance targets, approved budgets, and timelines while navigating competing priorities.
- They’re required to contribute to the identification and resolution of significant accounting or auditing issues arising from audit projects.
- Candidates are also appointed to Prepare accounting analyses and recommendations to management that are fair, meaningful, and timely, follow office methodologies and approaches, and meet applicable professional standards for approval by senior portfolio leadership.
- They’re appointed to participate in the presentation of assurance engagement plans, findings and recommendations before senior executive committees of auditees, audit committees, or internal executives working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a professional accounting designation, Canadian CPA or an equivalent international accounting designation with eligibility for membership in good standing with CPABC.
- They must attain at least 3 years post-designation experience conducting financial statement audits, including responsibility for planning, conducting, and reporting assurance activities by Canadian GAAS, and managing project teams.
- Candidates must attain 3 years of post-designation experience within the past three years.
- Candidates must have dedicated advanced knowledge of Canadian GAAP and GAAS.
- Candidates must attain problem-solving and analytical skills to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates must have a dedicated understanding of quality assurance policies, particularly related to project performance, consultations, engagement quality review and quality management.
- They must attain the ability to lead staff toward the achievement of results.
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
