Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to develop and monitor compliance and effectiveness of forest management for Crown and private land resource management programs within the district applied for this post.
- They’re also required at this post to provide expertise in support of the district-integrated resource management programs and forestry advice to the general public, local forest industry, Indigenous groups and other external agencies applied for this post.
Job requirement
- They must have expertise in forest management planning and practices, and legal obligations to be eligible for this post.
- They must know the principles and practices of forest ecosystem management to be considered as an asset for this post.
- People applying for this post must have dedicated knowledge of Ontario’s forest legislation, regulations and policies like the Crown Forest Sustainability Act and many others.
- Candidates must attain demonstrated leadership skills to direct planning teams and coordinate Local Citizen Committee meetings to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates applying for this post must have proven analytical and organizational skills to review information and reports, and make recommendations/provide solutions on a variety of resource matters to be considered as an asset for this post.
Work setting
- People must attain knowledge of, and working experience with Geographic Information System, Global Positioning System and current technologies to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates applying for this post must have dedicated experience in working with personal computers, the internet, database management, word processing, spreadsheet presentation spatial analysis and modeling software to prepare briefing materials, correspondence and reports working at this post.
