Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to perform routine maintenance procedures while troubleshooting and repairing building operating systems and equipment, groundskeeping, equipment repair and fleet management.
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to work with a multidisciplinary team in which they have the opportunity to work as part of a team.
- They’re also appointed to perform the maintenance tasks and implement building system upgrades under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Job requirement
- They must attain a successful completion of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain experience in the safe and appropriate use and maintenance of power and hand tools and test equipment used in the building trades.
- They must attain dedicated experience working in and delivering services to a northern and isolated community.
- Candidates must attain dedicated knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures associated with the maintenance and use of building systems equipment.
- They must attain knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in building maintenance to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to carry out semi-skilled trade functions related to building & equipment maintenance.
- Candidates must attain the ability to perform a variety of labour tasks safely.
Work setting
- Wear a Parks Canada uniform
