Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to spread sand or salt on sidewalks to control snow and ice.
  • The candidate will be expected to help with routine equipment maintenance and repair.
  • The candidate must assist equipment operators in securing attachments to equipment or trucks.
  • The candidate will be required to load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to collect and load refuse on garbage trucks.
  • The candidate will be required to sweep debris and remove snow from streets, sidewalks, building grounds, and other areas, as well as load snow and debris into carts or trucks.
  • The candidate will be required to shovel cement and other materials into cement mixers, spread concrete and asphalt on road surfaces with shovels, rakes, and hand tampers.
  • The candidate will be required to dig ditches and trenches with shovels and other hand tools.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, plumbers, and mechanics.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities.
  • The candidate will be expected to follow all safety procedures on the job site and report any violations to management immediately.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep the job site safe and clean by properly handling and storing materials, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
