Job Description 

  • Candidates who applied for this post are appointed to inspect, troubleshoot,g, repair, ng, and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as puck sorters, flow splitters, diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses and coils.
  • People who apply for this post are appointed to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders and pumps.
  • Candidates are required to maintain welding equipment such as hand rails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts and grating working at this post.
  •  Applicants applying for this post are required to perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment working at this post.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain Grade 12 education or equivalent and must have possession of a valid 5760 Industrial Construction and Maintenance Mechanic to be eligible for this post.
  •  Candidates must have experience performing maintenance on conveyor belts along with prior knowledge of plumbing and building schematics.
  • Applicants must attain knowledge of keyboard and basic computer skills.
  • People applying for this post must have a minimum of 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience performing maintenance on industrial equipment to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates must attain the ability to receive and give instruction over the radio in an industrial environment and must have excellent interpersonal skills to be considered as an asset for this post.

Work setting 

  • Candidates are appointed for inspecting troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings and transfer plates.
  • They’re also accountable for troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches and timers applied for this post.
