Job Description
- Candidates are appointed to work under the direction of a Light Rail Vehicle Technician and Engineering Technologist to acquire knowledge and skills on a variety of vehicle systems and components.
- They will have to expose all areas of Vehicle Maintenance facilities within Vehicles Group to become proficient in the repair and maintenance of streetcars.
- Candidates are also appointed to acquire all required skill sets and set competencies as prescribed by Skilled Trades Ontario.
Job requirement
- Candidates must ensure the completion of Grade 12 education or its equivalent with an emphasis on technical education and/or related work experience.
- They must be able to comprehend written and verbal technical instructions, normally demonstrated through experience working in a trade-related field.
- Candidates must possess a valid non-probationary Class “G” or better Ontario driver’s license, with the ability to upgrade to a “DZ” driver’s license.
- They must be successful applicants will be required to attend and successfully complete all related TTC in-house courses required/related for the position.
Work setting
- Candidates must ensure the possession of a related Red Seal and a provincial trade certificate would be an asset.
