Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
  • The candidate will be expected to vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
  • The candidate must stock the linen closet.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
  • The candidate must disinfect operating rooms and other areas.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting elevators.
  • The candidate must handle and report lost and found items.
  • The candidate must respond to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items.
  • The candidate must provide basic facility information.
  • The candidate will be responsible for picking up debris and emptying trash cans.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean the windows, walls, and ceilings.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean changing rooms and showers.
  • The candidate will be expected to respond to customer complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must launder clothing and household linens.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have a Housekeeping room attendant certification as well as a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to lift weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and 9 kg (20 lbs).

  • The candidate must work in the employer’s/client’s home.
  • The candidate will be provided with room and board.
  • The candidate must work in a cleaning service company, a health care institution, facility, or clinic, a hospital/medical facility, or a retirement home.
