Job Description
- Candidates who have applied for this post are appointed to provide a safe aquatic environment and a Quality Visitor Experience for guests of the Park.
- Miette Hot Springs in a fast-paced, challenging and engaging work environment working as a lifeguard at this post.
Job requirement
- Applicants must have a secondary school diploma or Public Service Commission-approved alternative to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain Current National Lifeguard Certification or International Life Saving Federation Pool Lifeguard equivalent certification to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants who applied for this post must have prior experience in providing information and service to the public to be considered as an asset for this post.
- They must attain experience working in a team environment to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to follow established practices and procedures as well as to adapt them to changing circumstances and conditions to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants must attain the willingness to use SCBA equipment and work with chlorine gas and other pool chemicals to be considered as an asset for this post.
- They must attain a dedicated willingness to obtain Oxygen Therapy Certification within 3 months of appointment to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Reliable security clearance level throughout this employment at the Parks Canada Agency.
- Applicants must be willing to work and travel in a variety of terrains and weather conditions in the performance of the duties to get preferred for this post.
