Job description
- Candidates will work collaboratively with contract managers and other lawyers.
- They will review and negotiate IP provisions in commercial contracts for LCL businesses.
- They will oversee management of LCL’s Canadian and international trademark portfolios and trademark opposition proceedings.
- They will manage and update the IP team’s online resource library of self-serve tools for the business to leverage.
- They are responsible for standardized legal templates, pre-approved copy, tips, guidelines and regulations.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have general commercial contracting experience.
- They must have knowledge of IP laws, best practices.
- They must have knowledge of industry trends to enable informed decision-making.
- They must be comfortable drafting cease and desist letters and responding to the same.
- They must have IP litigation experience.
Work setting
- Candidates must have expertise in trademark prosecution and oppositions, as well as trademark and copyright clearance.
- They must be fluent in bilingualism in written and spoken French.
- They must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
