Job Description

  • The candidate must manage landscaping projects.
  • The candidate must plan and construct landscaped environments that may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures.
  • The candidate will be expected to purchase general and specialised equipment, materials, or business services.
  • The candidate must organise and direct the planting of trees, gardens, and lawns.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise and coordinate worker activities.
  • The candidate must supervise and train crew members.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a related industry.

Work site environment

  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
  • The candidate must be able handle heavy equipment.

Experience and specialization

Landscaping experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with residential construction, commercial and/or industrial construction, park and recreation sites, restoration and preservation projects, and cemetery or crematorium construction.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with Power tools.

Area of work experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with quality assurance and control, landscaping, irrigation and drainage, and snow removal.

Construction specialization

  • The candidate must be skilled in the construction of automated irrigation systems, retaining walls, and stone garden walls.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be skilled in landscape design, landscape construction, horticultural consulting, plant knowledge and identification, operations management, and communications.

Additional information

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
  • The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
  • The candidate must be willing to work long hours in sitting, standing, and walking positions.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
